Case Studies
The value of EnservioCOMMERCIAL can be seen in every claim assignment we handle:

Case Study – Higher Education/Water Damage
Who: A private liberal arts college with over 3,500 students
Where: The university’s primary campus in the Northeast
What: Water damage from torrential rainstorms flooded the basements of nine buildings on campus, including the library, student center and several science labs. In one room, water pressure was so severe that it generated a spray from floor to ceiling. The loss occurred in late summer, just weeks from the start of classes -– time was of the essence.
How: While the waters were still receding, EnservioCOMMERCIAL met with the adjuster, the broker, the facilities manager and the president of the college to establish an orderly protocol for how to proceed with the contents inventory.

Enservio’s project manager and team worked closely with emergency restoration vendors to assess the items that had been affected by water. Items that could be cleaned successfully were taken offsite for work, while items determined to be questionable were moved to a secure area on site. Enservio Commercial worked with an industrial hygienist to ensure that only appropriate items were deemed to be a total loss. All questionable items were inventoried and subsequently discarded or cleaned according to the level of damage.
Result: The net result was a loss payment under $100,000 and closure of the entire claim in less than 30 days. Thousands of items were inspected, 557 were deemed questionable and inventoried, and of those, 315 were determined to be total loss. The college was able to focus on launching the school year with minimal business interruption. Enservio created reports that identified numerous items that could be saved as well as which items were total loss, applied depreciation for ACV coverage, and advised the adjuster on the recommended amounts for Furniture Fixtures and Equipment.

Case Study – Medical Center/Fire and Smoke
Who: A regional acute and outpatient care facility with over 450 beds
Where: Hospital campus in the Northeast
What: A fire in the power supply of an MRI machine caused extensive smoke damage inside the hospital's central supply room containing over half a million items.
How: Under pressure to keep the hospital up and running, the insured had quickly emptied the supply room, placing the contents in temporary storage trailers. In haste, no record was made of which supplies ended up in which trailer, nor were any specific processes created or followed. Documentation was limited to the insured's perpetual inventory.
Coordinating with hospital administrators, EnservioCOMMERCIAL's healthcare specialist had the contents moved to a local temporary storage facility where they could be unpacked and staged for proper identification. Our project manager and team then performed a thorough examination of the inventory to verify, quantify and price the actual loss against the insured's vast assortment of inventory records and receipts.
Result: After a complete match of all items, our analysis revealed an actual loss that was more than 33% lower than the insured's perpetual inventory.
